An estimated 33 million people in the world are living with HIV/Aids, Half of them are women. At the End of 2006, the CDC estimated taht 448,871 people with Aids were living in America with Black Americans disproportionately affected.
If everyone were tested and treated regulary, according to recent study by "the Lancet", new HIV cases could be reduced by 95% within 10 years. So, do your part and be sure to get tested if you are sexually active. Always use protection, we can never say it enough.
Aids was first identified in the US in 1981. The epidemic has now spread to every part of the US and to all sectors of society, and even had a greater impact in places like Africa and Asia where underpriviledge people often can't afford medical treatment and therefore can't be treat.
