Sultry R&B and pop singer Kreesha Turner was born in Canada to a Jamaican mother and a Canadian father. She started appreciating music at an early age, listeming to a variety of musical artists, like jazz pianist Oscar Peterson, Erykah Badu and hip hop group A Tribe called Quest.
At age 15, she was sent to Jamaica for a year to reconnect with her roots. There, she spent time singing at a Pentecostal Church, which let her to think she could start a musical career. Once back in Canada, she would performed with local hip hop artists, and later began writing her own songs. She finally got her break in 2005, when she won a a local radio talent contest, which gave her the opportunity to be notice by a prominent Urban and R&B music manager Chris Smith (Nelly Furtado, Tamia).
Her caerer really took off when she recorded a four-track EP featuring the hit song "Bounce with Me" which was also featured on several TV shows, including Gossip Girl.
The song "Don't Call Me Baby" was released as Kreesha Turner's second single from the album "Passion", peaking at #1 on the Hot Dance Play chart in the US.
